Do I need to install anything?
No. GamepadTester.tools is a plain static website that reads controller input directly from the browser.
Why is my controller not showing up?
Browsers often require a button press after connection. If it still does not appear, reconnect it and try a current Chrome, Edge, or Firefox build.
What does the suggested deadzone mean?
It is a lightweight estimate based on the highest idle stick offset observed after your last reset, plus a small safety margin.
Can this test Xbox and PS5 controllers?
Yes. Standard-mapped Xbox pads and PS5 DualSense controllers usually work well when connected through a supported desktop browser.
